All three are within walking distance from each other. But then, there are also several walking tours that you can take, for your convenience and education. Here are a couple of the more popular ones:
Old Manila Walks
Takes you through the old, walled city of Intramuros; Binondo (Chinatown); the Malacañang Palace; the Chinese Cemetary; and Corregidor Island.
Walk This Way, by Celdran Tours
Imagine having a clown for a tour guide. And I don’t mean that in a derogatory sense; Carlos Celdran is a theater actor-cum-Manila tour guide. His signature brand of tour guiding — the entire thing is a performance — makes it easy to pay attention, actually retain something, and form an opinion. If you’re walking in the Manila heat, you’re going to want to at least be entertained! And that is exactly what he’ll give you.
“On Thursdays, we wear blue.” – Mean Girls of Manila
At the risk of being misconstrued, getting to nap at a beautiful park in the middle of the day is a luxury that I wish more of us had the privilege of having.
If you look hard enough, which I admit I had failed to do in the past, #Manila does have some magical little secrets. It isn’t all chaotic and gray. I’ve said it before snd I’ll say it again: I’m falling more and more in love with everything everyday. And because I’ve spent some quality time with her, what used to be my love-hate relationship with the city is no more; Manila has straight-up charmed the pants right off of me. Hello, Manila, I am enchanted to meet you!
Two things #Manila needs more of — parks, and more children enjoying them!
Roofing caste system: From the tin-roofed shanty, to the swanky sky-reacher.
Still only PhP15 for the best street food #Manila has to offer — dirty ice cream. In three classic flavors: queso, strawberry, and mango. Has more branches than Starbucks, and found at every worthy street corner
